Guide Overview

The user guide to Gradient’s preliminary beta version.

1. Importing and connecting your wallet

All beta participants will be provided with the private key to a wallet containing both GRAY & ETH. This wallet is to be used exclusively for Gradient beta purposes, and should be the only wallet used for Gradient beta purposes.

Begin by importing this wallet to your Metamask or DeFi wallet, and connect it to the Gradient beta application by clicking the “Connect Wallet” button.

2. Selecting a token to trade

Now that your wallet is connected, you may select a token to buy or sell, price-impact free. In the case of the beta, you must select the GRAY token.

To do this, click the “select” button.

Then, type “GRAY” in the search bar and click the GRAY token to select it for trade.

To switch between buying and selling an asset, click the middle button on swap page.

3. Executing a trade

If the asset you’ve selected may be instantly traded, the green light indicating “Instant Trade Available” will display at the top of the swap page.

If no instant trade is available, the “Auto-Fallback” toggle will appear instead, and you will be prompted to enter a Time-to-Live (Amount of time before your order is cancelled or falls back to DEX) and a Max/Min Price (The maximum or minimum price you are willing to buy/sell an asset for).

When Auto-Fallback is turned on, your order will be routed through DEX once your Time-to-Live (TTL) expires, so long as market price respects your Max/Min Price setting.

Once you’ve set or settings, or if an instant trade is available, simply click the “Swap” button to execute your trade, and confirm the transaction in your metamask or DeFi wallet.

4. Viewing and managing orders

To view and manage your orders, click the “My Orders” tab above the Orderbook

To route an order or the remainder of an order through DEX, click the “Fallback” button under the order details, then click the “Fallback” button in the pop-up and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

To cancel an order or the remainder of an order, click the “Cancel” button under the order details, then click the “Cancel Order” button in the pop-up and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
